Viticulture is still important in Lumbarda where people cultivate the "Grk" grape from which they make the well known white wine of the same name.

In the villages of Cara and Smokvica, large areas are cultivated with the "posip" grape that yields yet another famous wine.

There are many vineyards dotted around the area including those growing red wine grapes.
